NASAGA 2025 Schedule Preview (Friday PM/Saturday AM)

All good things must come to an end, and that includes NASAGA 2025. Here’s the laydown for the final 24 hours.

Friday, 17 October:

  • 2:00-3:30pm: Breakout Session 2. Time for two more great games:

    • Building an Indoor/Outdoor Campus Escape Game: Through videos and pictures, explore a virtual escape game designed for Cape Cod Community College that plays in both indoor and outdoor spaces. This case study demonstrates how games can provide students, staff, and community members a playful way to familiarize themselves with campus environments.

    • United Nations Climate Action Negotiation Simulation: Experience the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator as you take on the role of a United Nations Delegate in an emergency climate negotiation session. Gain insight into stakeholder motivations and explore science-based solutions that can truly lower planetary temperature through real-time interactive modeling.

  • 3:30-5:00pm: Breakout Session 3. Last round of conference games for the day:

    • Mapping Our Culture: Hacking The Quiet Year for Organizational Exploration: This session focuses on the award-winning game The Quiet Year and how its core mechanics can be applied to investigate organizational culture. Experience how tabletop roleplaying games can be adapted for organizational learning through mapping a community's evolution and making difficult decisions together.

    • A Hmong Batik Preservation Video Game: This playtesting session invites participants to explore a video game designed to preserve and share Hmong batik traditions. Through interactive storytelling and symbolic pattern-based puzzles, players experience batik as both art and cultural memory while discovering how digital games can serve as innovative tools for cultural heritage preservation.

  • 5:00-7:00pm: Break! After a busy afternoon, this is your chance to refresh and get ready for…

  • 7:00-9:00pm: Gala, Awards & Dinner. Here’s your chance to dress up (or down) and enjoy a star-studded night of awards and fun.

  • 9:00pm - 10:30pm: Game Night. Many NASAGAns describe the Game Nights as a highlight of the conference. We will have games available, and feel free to bring your own!

Saturday, 18 October:

  • 8:00am - 9:00am: Breakfast. We’ll give you some recovery from the Gala and Game Night, but there’s still games ahead!

  • 9:00am - 11:00am: Breakout Session. Our last two!:

    • Play to Progress: Building a Culture of Continuous Learning: This highly interactive workshop explores how to use play to create a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement. Experience how game-based interactions reveal team dynamics and blockers while building trust and generating actionable insights for better collaboration.

    • Pixels & Prompts: AI-Powered Playful Design Revolution: Dive into the revolutionary fusion of artificial intelligence and game design in this hands-on workshop. Watch pixels transform through prompts as we demonstrate live AI-powered game creation based on audience input. Experiment with crafting your own prompts while exploring ethical implications and practical workflows.

  • 10:30 - 11:00am: Break! Talk, network, share game ideas - your time to engage fellow NASAGANs.

  • 11:30am - 1:30pm: Do you need a hero? Try Heroes of Learning: A Roleplaying Workshop for Educator Renewal, Fellowship, and Leadership. Step into the role of a heroic fantasy educator in this hands-on, story-driven workshop. Create characters based on both real and aspirational aspects of your teaching identity, then collaborate through immersive roleplay to face an epic shared challenge. Come rediscover your purpose and imagine the educator you're becoming.

See you in 2 weeks!
