Games for Learning Design Template

Does anyone have a good Games for Learning Design Template? Something that looks very official to give to a new client that will cover the objective of the game, timeline available, resources available, etc. I can create one, but wondering if someone has a good one that they use. Or what questions do you ask a new client that is asking for you to make them a game or activity for a workshop? Thanks!Greg KoeserSee More

Pandemic - the cooperative game that shows the learning sweet spot

Posted on July 28, 2009 at 8:00am 0 Comments

A relatively new cooperative game, Pandemic, is a very good example of a simple design that also demonstrates that losing is sometimes better than winning.

In Pandemic, you are all CDC employees who are trying to keep the world safe from 4 viruses that are having outbreaks around the world. Each turn you can treat people, build facilities, or research a cure, but at the end of your turn, you flip up more cards for where more outbreaks are occurring. You win when you have the cure for… Continue

Greg,

I attended the 2007 conference in Atlanta; at the moment, I am looking for the organizations Code of Ethics or Conduct; can you help?  If it's on the homepage, it is certainly not obvious...!

     Thanks, Joe

Hi Greg,

I think there could be great synergy between the two upcoming events-- LEEF and the NASAGA conference.  We can definitely come up with ideas to cross promote both events. Feel free to email me at LEEF@HarrisburgU.edu with some thoughts.

Hello Greg,

Thank you for your note, I would like to attend the conference, as well as might some of my colleagues in Bloomington who are similar projects.  Please let me know if you will attend G4C, GLS, CGAMES or TEDxBloomington "Wisdom of Play", if so it would be fun to chat w/ you at those events as well!

The product you have asked for is a brazilian "magic pins" (http://www.elka.com.br/produtos/consulta.asp?busca=pinos+m%E1gicos&secao=Resultado+da+Busca).

The "magic pins" are easier to handle than LEGO (lighter; softer; easy to match; intense colors).

The supply-chain is a miner-goldsmith-jewelry with an auditor comittee.
