With Chris Saeger's recommendation of Pandemic, I thought a good monthly topic would be: What games do you pull out for fun as much as possible?
There is one game that my wife and I are addicted to and play every morning over breakfast (and then sometimes in the evening when we get home from work - we think it is that much fun and balanced). That game is Race for the Galaxy. It is not a simple game to pick up, as there are quite a few rules and game mechanics that might be new at first, but once you get used to the cards and rules, we play a game in about 20 minutes and there is not one "killer" strategy, but you can win many different ways.
We also break out Dominion as much as possible because it is also a quick game that has tons of replayability and a unique game mechanic of deck-building.
For party games, the newest one that is hard to go wrong with is Telestrations which is a drawing telephone game and quite fun (though I don't enjoy their suggested scoring - I just don't score, just have fun).
One of our own (Scott Nicholson who won the Rising Star award last year) has a good video collection where he goes through the rules of different games called Board Games with Scott.
Let us know the games (new or classic) that you try to pull out of the game closet as much as possible.
